아직 우리나라에서는 동반진단제(동반진단체외진단용시약) 대한 정의가 내려지지 않은 상태입니다.

동반진단제(Companion Diagnostics Device, CDx)는 체외진단제품(In Vitro Diagnostic Product)의 일종으로 미국 FDA에서 발간한 자료 “Draft
Guidance for Industry and Food and Drug administration Staff In Vitro Companion Diagnostic Devices” (issued July 14, 2011)에 의하면, "IVD
동반진단제는 해당 치료제의 안전하고 효과적인 사용을 위해 필수적인 정보를 제공한다. 모든 일반적인 치료제의 라벨과 마찬가지로, 특정 치료제
를 위한 IVD 동반진단시약의 사용은 진단제와 해당 치료제 모두 사용법을 라벨에 표시하도록 지침으로 규정한다."
(The FDA draft guidance In Vitro Companion Diagnostic Devices, issued July 14, provides the following definition: An IVD companion diagnostic device
is an in vitro diagnostic device that provides information that is essential for the safe and effective use of a corresponding therapeutic product. The use
of an IVD companion diagnostic device with a particular therapeutic product is stipulated in the instructions for use in the labeling of both the diagno-
stic device and the corresponding therapeutic product, as well as in the labeling of any generic equivalents of the therapeutic product) 이다.
